RN-Vankor’s 2025 Energy Saving Programme Yields Over 55 Million kWh Effect
In 2025, RN-Vankor (part of Rosneft’s oil and gas production complex) achieved an energy saving effect of over 55 million kWh through the implementation of its energy conservation programme measures.
This result was achieved through the introduction of new technologies, the use of highly efficient equipment, and the optimisation of operating modes for surface and bottomhole pumping units. In total, approximately 700 measures were implemented in 2025 under the Mechanized Extraction programme. Equipping oil-producing wells with higher-efficiency pumps combined with low-load electric motors and optimal cross-section cables yielded an energy-saving effect of 31 million kWh.
Switching the separators of the FWKO South unit at the Vankorskoye field to cold separation mode—thereby reducing the load on heating equipment—saved approximately 7 thousand metric tons of standard fuel equivalent.
An effective Energy Management System, the rational use of energy resources, and reduced energy consumption have enabled RN-Vankor to rank first in energy efficiency among Rosneft’s oil and gas production enterprises for the fifth consecutive time. RN-Vankor’s energy management system is certified under the national standard GOST R ISO 50001:2023.
Improving process energy efficiency and implementing high-tech solutions have been integral to RN-Vankor’s operations since the start of development at the Vankorskoye field in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The effect of the Energy Saving Programme implemented by the enterprise since 2014 has exceeded 692 million kWh of electricity, amounting to 1.77 billion rubles in monetary terms.
