Rosneft Hosts Events Dedicated to Youth Day
Staff at Rosneft's enterprises participated in Youth Day, a nationally recognised holiday in Russia. The Company's employees organised a series of events focused on professional and personal development, as well as sporting and environmental activities, in support of the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia.
Young professionals and workers from Orenburgneft participated in a clean-up operation of the area around the Arboretum in the Buzuluk Forest and took part in a series of themed quiz games. Other highlights in the run-up to the celebrations included the enterprise's staff taking part in the “Together We Are Russia” corporate festival and the youth gathering, both organised to mark the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia.
In Nizhnevartovsk, Samotlorneftegaz played an active part in organising Youth Week. The oil workers organised a variety of workshops, sporting activities and an intellectual games club for the visitors. In Victory Park, which has been refurbished as part of an agreement between Rosneft and the Yugra government, the enterprise's staff organised a music and dance event called “Party to the Records”. In addition, oil workers established an exhibition area, showcasing examples of innovative technology and industrial equipment from the Samotlor field. For younger visitors, a creative area was set up where children could colour in cubes depicting the culture and history of the peoples of Russia.
One of the most significant voluntary initiatives implemented by young professionals in corporate research institutes in Ufa is the “Social Tutor” programme. Young oil workers are offering free tuition to schoolchildren from low-income families, and the number of childre has now exceeded 200.
A group of young professionals from the Saratov Oil Refinery organised a cycle ride in the Kumysnaya Polyana Nature Park. The young specialists invited refinery employees and their families to participate in a sports challenge. Guided by professional instructors, the participants completed a 15-kilometre cycling route, navigating routes of varying difficulty. The Syzran Oil Refinery employees participated in the city's Youth Day celebrations. One of the interactive platforms organised by oil workers proved particularly popular – the facility's mobile environmental laboratory, equipped with cutting-edge equipment for environmental monitoring. Laboratory technicians at the refinery demonstrated their process for taking air samples and analysing them for key parameters. The event provided an opportunity for all participants to put their skills to the test as laboratory assistants specialising in ecology.
Kharampurneftegaz employees organised workshops as part of the Tyumen city festival. Young oil workers trained guests to cook traditional dishes from across Yamal, and also organised competitions in weightlifting, badminton and table tennis.
Tyumenneftegaz organised a music quiz for its young staff, the enterprise's mentors and activists from the Tyumen Region Students' Council.
In collaboration with volunteers from the Movement of the Firsts, staff from Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha undertook the renovation of the grounds and painting of enclosures at the Orto-Doidu Zoo in the Khangalassky District of Yakutia – the home of polar bears under the care of Rosneft.
In the Khabarovsk Region, the Komsomolsk Oil Refinery set up a careers guidance stand at the city festival. Young residents of Komsomolsk-on-Amur were given the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the industry's required professions, observe some fascinating chemistry experiments and try on the special clothing worn by factory workers.
Rosneft's enterprises are committed to the regular implementation of various initiatives and programmes. These are aimed at developing the younger generation, fostering patriotism and an active approach to life. The enterprises also engage in systematic cooperation with the national Movement of the Firsts.
The Company's human resources policy is centred on the steady influx of professionally trained young people and the swift and effective integration of these individuals into enterprises. In order to address issues in youth policy, the Company operates a corporate education system known as “School–College/University–Enterprise”. This system enables Rosneft to build up an external talent pool comprising students from schools and universities in the regions where it operates. In 2025, the Company organised over 950 events to provide career guidance, including seminars, enterprise tours, meetings with young professionals, thematic quests and quizzes. Partner schools participate in a programme of pre-specialisation education for schoolchildren in grades 5–8. The programme involves 660 school classes.
A fundamental aspect of youth policy is the identification, encouragement and support of gifted schoolchildren. Encouraging students to participate in academic competitions is an effective way of achieving this goal. In the 2024/2025 academic year, 930 students participated in subject-based competitions at various levels, with 373 of them declared winners or awarded prizes.
The Company is committed to the professional development of young people: by providing opportunities for professional development, organising youth-focused scientific and practical conferences and professional skills competitions, as well as large-scale hackathons. In June 2026, the 19th cluster conference for young professionals was held, bringing together 1,300 young employees from nine enterprises. The event featured 67 specialist sections where attendees presented their research projects. Rosneft is creating opportunities for young people's professional and personal development, thereby laying a solid foundation for the future of the country's oil industry.
