Verkhnechonskneftegaz Joint Stock Company (AO VChNG) is developing the Verkhnechonskoye oil and gas condensate field, one of the largest in Eastern Siberia, which is located in the Katangsky District of the Irkutsk Region, in the upper reaches of the Chona River, 1,100 km from the city of Irkutsk - the regional center.
The field was discovered in 1978, but it was only in 2005 that pilot production began.
In October 2008, the Verkhnechonskoye oil and gas condensate field was put into commercial development. On October 15, the first oil was delivered to the East Siberia-Pacific Ocean pipeline system (ESPO).
Priority areas of AO VChNG operations:
- production of hydrocarbon raw materials and geological study of subsoil;
- surface facilities development of oil and gas fields;
- survey, design, construction and installation and other operations;
- oil refining, manufacture and sale of petroleum products;
- drilling of parametric, prospecting, exploration, structural, observation and production wells for hydrocarbons and water.
In addition to commercial operation of the Verkhnechonskoye oil and gas condensate field, VChNG operates 15 Rosneft license areas located in the Irkutsk Region and Krasnoyarsk Territory.
The Company is actively engaged in prospecting, exploration and preparation for development of new fields. In 2019, the process of the Severo-Danilovskiy oil and gas condensate field facilities development began.
