In 2018, for the first time in the history of JSC Samotlorneftegaz, a record in production drilling rate was achieved - it crossed the milestone of one million meters. In 2022, the rate in production drilling of Samotlorneftegaz amounted to 1 million 325 thousand 647 meters. The level of 1 million meters was achieved in a record short period of 233 days. The highest daily rate was 7203 meters; the maximum commercial rate in production drilling was almost 6 thousand meters per day.
A new design bicentric bit was used for the first time in drilling horizontal wells at Samotlor. The uniquely designed rock-destroying tool forms a larger diameter bottom hole, which makes it possible to drill wells with complex profiles and save a full day in the well construction cycle.
In 2022, cumulative gas production at the Samotlor field reached 400 billion m3. The level of rational utilization of associated petroleum gas was 99%.
Samotlorneftegaz is the leader in the number of developed Operational Excellence Improvement Passports (OEIP) among the Company's entities. From 2018 to 2023, 190 OEIP projects were approved, with the economic effect amounting to over RUB 11.5 bln.
In 2018, Samotlorneftegaz developed and implemented a mathematical model to optimize current oil production at the Samotlor field in a pilot block. In 2020, a decision was made to further roll-out the technology to other blocks of the Samotlor field. In 2023, the technology of mathematical modeling for complex optimization of oil production was successfully applied at 10 blocks of the Samotlor field.
In 2021, for the first time in the domestic industry, Samotlorneftegaz carried out multi-stage hydraulic fracturing (fracking) using a unique set of technologies - full liner cementing combined with new-design fracture couplings. The innovative approach ensures reduction of the drilling and development cycle for one well in deep Jurassic and Achimov deposits to 5 days - from 47 to 42. The economic effect of drilling one well is 4.5 million rubles.
In five years, Samotlorneftegaz has performed more than 14,000 activities as part of its energy efficiency improvement program. The effect of the Samotlorneftegaz energy saving program was more than 1.3 billion kWh of electricity, which in monetary terms exceeds 5.4 billion rubles.
Every year Samotlorneftegaz renews its pipeline fleet as part of the "Pipeline Reliability Improvement" program. The condition of Samotlorneftegaz's existing pipeline fleet is monitored using snow and swamp-going vehicles and unmanned aerial vehicles equipped with high-resolution video cameras and thermal imagers. Up to 2,000 km of pipelines are inspected every day.
Samotlorneftegaz is working to implement best practices aimed at monitoring fugitive sources of methane emissions.
Since the start of the program to control methane occurrence in 2021, over 7,000 ground measurements of process facilities have been made using infrared cameras, laser scanner, and ultrasonic detector at site facilities. Airborne monitoring is also in place, whereby production sites and gas pipelines located in the flight zone are surveyed using unmanned aerial vehicles equipped with a laser gas analyzer.
By the end of 2023, Samotlorneftegaz has restored biological productivity of soils on more than 90% of the area of "historical heritage" lands disturbed during field development in the 70-80s. Since 2019, more than 680 hectares of this category of land have been restored.
In 2023, Samotlorneftegaz planted 575 thousand pine seedlings on an area of 157 hectares, which is an absolute record for the company.
Samotlorneftegaz is implementing a unique project on artificial reproduction of aquatic bioresources. In 2023, the company released more than 7 million of young fry of Siberian sturgeon, muksun and broad whitefish into the Ob-Irtysh basin. For the company, this is the largest-scale replenishment of aquatic bioresources in the last five years. Starting from 2020, the company has been actively supporting the Yugra's regional priority program titled "Conservation of Siberian sturgeon" of the national "Ecology" project. Over 4 years, the company has released more than 2 million of young fry of this red-listed fish into the major waterways of the Okrug.
