The exhibition is organized in collaboration with Victoria and Albert Museum in London and is made possible through the generous support of Rosneft and ExxonMobil. The exhibition will run through September 2, 2013 and will display original costumes, set designs, paintings, sculptures, prints and drawings, photographs, posters, and film clips in a theatrical multimedia installation.

Commenting on the opening, Earl A. Powell III, Director of the National Gallery of Art said: “We have never done an exhibition like this before. We were very fortunate to attract the attention of Rosneft and ExxonMobil whose generous support made this exhibition possible”.

Sara Kennel, "Diaghilev and the Ballets Russes" curator, said: “I think this exhibition is an extraordinary opportunity to look at the history of modern art and dance and see how the concentration of music, design and dance originated in the Russian ballet. We are very grateful to Rosneft and ExxonMobil for supporting this project”.
