Rosneft’s first Winter Sports Festival to be held on March 1-4 in Moscow
Rosneft will hold its first Winter Sports Festival (‘Spartakiada’) from March 1 to March 4 at the Novogorsk Sports Training Center and the Planernaya Olympic Training Center in the town of Khimki, just outside Moscow.
More than 300 sportsmen and women from teams at 18 Company subsidiaries will take part in Spartakiada. Events will include ice hockey, speed skating, ski racing and sledging.
The Spartakiada will also include a Health Day, Shrovetide celebrations and the first championship of the Sochi 2014 Partnership League.
Rosneft has held a summer Spartakiada every year since 2005, involving thousands of sport enthusiasts from all of the Company’s divisions. The first Rosneft Spartakiada marked the 10th anniversary of the Company’s creation in 1995, and drew together 3000 participants . The sixth summer event, held in 2010, was dedicated to the Company’s 15th anniversary and participation was at a record level of 18,000 people.
Support for sporting events and promotion of a healthy lifestyle are priorities of Rosneft social policy. Rosneft helps to organize sport competitions, and provides support for various sports teams and federations.
