Varyeganneftegaz is Implementing the Program Aimed at Completion of Gas Reservoirs Study
Varyeganneftegaz (Rosneft subsidiary) starts implementation of Phase I of industrial experiment works aimed at completion of gas reservoirs study at the licensed blocks in Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District. The major activities will be focused on the Van-Yoganskoe and Severo-Varyeganskoe fields.
Under the results of the geological exploration, which is detailed 3D seismic and drilling of an appraisal well, only at the Severo-Varyeganskoe field there have been installed 3 prospecting wells. The drilling of these wells will allow for the full-scale development of this area.
The enterprise has a significant resource base of non-associated gas and gas-cap gas reservoirs. The remaining recoverable reserves of natural gas at the Varyeganneftegaz fields total 238 bcm. The enterprise is planning to implement an integrated project for gas production increase for the next few years.
In addition to the program aimed at completion of gas reservoirs study, the enterprise is actively introducing new oil production technologies, including drilling with the use of oil-based muds, water shut-off, sidetracking, multi-stage fracking, use of oil-well tubing with modern coating, and dual completion. Another focus of Varyeganneftegaz activities is implementation of energy-saving program.
Notes for Editors: In order to extend production units, such enterprises of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District-Yugra as Varyeganneftegaz, Severo-Varyeganskoe, Nizhnevartovsk Oil and Gas Production Enterprise, and Vanyeganneft were merged into Varyeganneftegaz, Rosneft subsidiary. Varyeganneftegaz activity covers area of 40 thousand sq. km. Development is carried out at 16 licensed blocks. In 2013, cumulative production of Varyeganneftegaz enterprises totaled more than 7.5 million tons of oil and more than 3.4 bcm of gas. |
