FGC UES and Rosneft commission two substations for Vankor power supplies
The commissioning of new power plants Arsenal and Mangazeya in Purov district of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Territory has taken place, which will provide permanent power supply of Vankor gas field.
The building of substations (SS) and high-voltage transmission lines (HT) is the largest investment projects of recent years, realized in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Territory as part of the agreement on collaboration between FGC UES and NK Rosneft, signed on June 25 of 2010. The construction of Arsenal 220 kw substation and Tarko-Sale – Arsenal high-voltage transmission lines started in 2012, building of Mangazeya 220-kw substation and Urengoy State District Power Plant – Mangazeya was commenced in 2011.
The commissioning of Arsenal substation will provide electricity for development of oil extraction and transportation as well as related infrastructure in the Russia’s High North in nearest 10-15 years.
Mangazeya Substation will secure load increase about 146 megawatt created by Vankor substation, oil pump station and parallel work with electrical power system of Vankor State District Power Plant and cover existing need in energy.
