Rosneft is a general partner of the festival ‛December nights of Sviatoslav Richter“

Rosneft took part as a general partner in the XXXIV international festival “December nights of Sviatoslav Richter. The festival will start on December 2 in The Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow. At the same time an exhibition “Both color and sound” is to open in the White Hall of the main museum building.

This year's music festival and exhibition are dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the outstanding musician Sviatoslav Richter’s birth, which will be celebrated in March 2015. The festival will include works of his repertoire as well as two unique programs. Those are choreographic concert «Aubade» by Francis Poulenc and the world premiere of "The Tempest" by Alexander Alyabiev (Shakespeare’s play). Musicians whose work was much influenced by Richter are among the performers of the festival (Natalia Gutman, Yuri Bashmet, Elisabeth Leonskaya Alice Virsaladze, Alexander Melnikov, Lyudmila Berlinskaya, as well as artists from Germany, France, UK, USA, Hungary, Finland).

The exhibition “Both color and sound”, which traditionally accompanies "December Nights of Sviatoslav Richter" and symbolizes connection between painting and music, will introduce the audience to the works of Russian and Western European artists from the collection of the Pushkin Museum, the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, the Louvre and Orsay, the Centre Georges Pompidou (Paris), the Reina Sofía (Madrid), Gallery of Old Masters (Dresden). Overall the exhibition will present about 30 works.

In his address to sponsors, participants and guests of the festival Igor Sechin expressed appreciation to everyone who gives an opportunity to hear the best world and national musical works, touch the roots of spirituality and beauty.
