Rosneft held public hearings on comprehensive studies of licensed area in the East-Siberian Sea
Rosneft presented a program of comprehensive geophysical studies on the East-Sibirsky-1 licensed block in the water area of the East-Siberian Sea in the course of public hearings held in Anadyr.
During the event, the implementation of the works, measures on environmental protection during exploration as well as equipment and technologies were discussed in detail.
The participants of the event approved the implementation of presented program.
The Company is planning to conduct seismic data acquisition 2D with total volume of 10 thousand linear meters as well as geochemical and magnetic prospecting on the block in the period from 2015 to 2016. It is planned to carry out gravimetric and magnetometric works simultaneously with seismic survey.
To conduct seismic data acquisition, specialized research vessels will be involved. Crews of all vessels involved are highly-qualified and have relevant experience needed to work on Arctic shelf.
The compliance with existing environmental regulations will be observed by qualified ecologists during the whole research period, the same independent environmental team will also monitor marine mammals presence in the operation area.
Rosneft subsidiary RN-Shelf-Far East will handle geologic data survey implementation. The data collected during research will be used for elaboration of further decisions on project implementation.
The results of public hearings will be processed and directed for state ecological expertise review as part of project materials.
