RN-Aero Showed the Best Performance in Jet Fuel Sales in Russia in 2014
RN-Aero, Rosneft subsidiary, showed the best results in sales of aviation fuel in Russia in 2014. The company increased its sales to 3.42 million tons, which according to Company estimates, accounts to 34 % of the total volume of jet fuel sold in Russia.
The record performance became possible due to the implementation of a strategy aimed at increasing the customer base and expanding the geography of the Company’s presence. Over the past year, RN-Aero achieved 26 % growth in the number of client agreements (the total number of its clients now exceeds 300). At the same time, the Company achieved significant growth in the volume of sales in such key destinations as Sheremetyevo, Koltsovo, Krasnodar, Adler.
As part of the performance of the partnership agreement with the International Olympic Committee (Rosneft is the general sponsor of the 22nd Winter Olympic and 11th Paralympic Games in Sochi), RN-Aero provided delay-free refueling of aircrafts in the capital of the games (at the peak of activity, the number of flights to and from Sochi airport increased by 300 % compared to the average seasonal workload). The Company demonstrated the same proficiency during the provision of oil products for aircrafts during Russia's first Formula 1 race in Sochi.
In 2014, the company started the implementation of the international expansion program – as part of this program RN-Aero signed a cooperation agreement with the leading Jet Fuel supplier Shell Aviation. In addition, a partnership agreement was signed with KazMunaiGas-Aero (KazMunaiGas subsidiary) envisaging the organization of high-quality aviation fuel supply by RN-Aero to KazMunaiGas-Aero by the conclusion of storage contracts at the KazMunaiGas-Aero points of presence.
RN-Aero has the leading position in Russia in terms of coverage and it aims to further expand its sales network, develop and upgrade its retail assets, increase operational efficiency.
