Rosneft expands the application of international certificates in HSE
According to the results of the audit, Rosneft has received certificates of the Company's Integrated Management System compliance with two international standards - ISO 14001:2015, which establishes the requirements to environmental management systems, and with Standard BS OHSAS 18001:2007, which sets the requirements to H&S management systems functioning.
In September-October 2018, the auditors of DQS company assessed the compliance of the management system in Rosneft and its subsidiaries pertaining to Upstream, Downstream, Commerce & Logistics, Gas Business and Internal Service.
It was noted that the Company increased the coverage of certified activities, and also confirmed the upgrade to the new version of ISO 14001 Standard version of 2015.
Christoph Nehring, Rosneft Vice President for HSE, made a report at the certificates award ceremony where he pointed out the importance of the confirmed independent audit assessment of the Company's management system compliance with the well-recognized international standards. The principles of continuous improvement of management and results in the field of industrial safety, labor protection and the environment correspond to the approaches of the Company reflected in the Rosneft-2022 Strategy. Given the priority of this direction, Rosneft plans to further improve HSE management ensuring a high level of standardization and efficiency of the processes, expanding the scope of certification in accordance with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.

Back in 2017, total HSE-related costs of Rosneft exceeded RUB 150 bln.
Rosneft HSE integrated management system has been certified in accordance with standards OHSAS 18001 (H&S management system) and ISO 14001 (environmental safety management system) since May 2006. Certification authorities that carried out independent qualified assessment of the Company's HSE management system compliance with the international standards in different times were the authoritative majors in this area: Bureau Veritas Certification Rus, Russian division of the British Standards Institute (BSI) Management Systems CIS, and DQS. Certificates of compliance are issued for three years, subject to successful completion of the annual supervisory audit.
