Transport Junction on Key Ufa Highway Put into Service with Support of Bashneft

A transport junction was built with the support of Bashneft, an enterprise of Rosneft Group, on the major Ufa highway which connects the northern and southern parts of the city. The new road infrastructure should resolve one of the most severe traffic problems in the Bashkiria capital persistent in recent years. Before, a drive from one part of the city to the other took about 1.5 hours because of traffic jams caused by the intersection of the highway and the railroad. Now, with the new overpass put into service, the travel time will be reduced to 30 minutes, thus increasing the speed of travel on one of the key Ufa highways, as well as improving the environmental situation by reducing emissions.

The total amount of investments in the construction was 1 billion roubles. The greater part of the funds was allocated within the framework of the Cooperation Agreement between Rosneft and the Republic of Bashkortostan.

The new transport junction meets all the up-to-date requirements. Its total length exceeds 1 kilometre and the length of the overpass itself amounts to 161 metres with three traffic lanes. The junction is equipped with pedestrian pavements, lighting, and sound barriers, as well as with a storm water drain and sewage disposals.

During the construction, the marshland was drained and a wide range of underground services, cables, and water and gas pipelines was replaced.

The sponsorship in the road infrastructure modernization in Bashkortostan is an important area of Rosneft Oil Company’s charitable programme. In the last two years, the Company lent support to 12 districts of the Republic, such as an overhaul of the road from Yazykovo to Chishma, repair of several roads in Krasnokamsky and Dyurtyulinsky districts, repair of the bridge over Mata River in Bakalinsky district and other transport infrastructure objects.
