Rosneft and BP Russia Train Petroleum Engineering Double Degree Master Programme Students
Rosneft and BP Russia jointly with the Kazan (Privolzhsky) Federal University and Imperial College London are training highly qualified personnel for the Petroleum Engineering master’s programme. It is a two-year programme aimed at training specialists in integrated field development management. The training is in English. In 2020, nine students will be enrolled for the first year of study.
Professors from Imperial College London and senior specialists from Rosneft and BP take part in the educational process along with leading teachers of the Kazan University. Among the lecturers of the course are Professor Martin Blunt--the Head of Petroleum Engineering Programme at Imperial College London, one of the leading international specialists in the field of filtration processes in porous environments--and Adriana Paluzhni, a leading expert in the field of fracture formation modelling.
Upon completion of the programme, graduates will receive two master’s degrees in Oil and Gas from the Kazan (Privolzhsky) Federal University and Imperial College London.

The proposal for cooperation in the field of joint educational projects came from the President of BP Russia David Campbell. Taking into account the Company’s need for highly qualified specialists for its subsidiaries, including those implementing joint projects with foreign partners, the parties identified the Kazan University, which cooperates with Imperial College London, as a partner institution in the creation and joint implementation of the Master’s programme.
