Ryazan Oil Refining Company and Russian Ecological Society Hold Round Table

Ryazan Oil Refining Company and Russian Ecological Society (RES) have held a round table in the video conference format. The parties discussed their cooperation in the implementation of the Company’s environmental projects in the Ryazan Region. Representatives of the enterprise and RES agreed to communicate openly to increase the environmental safety of production.

At the round table, the parties considered the main technological parameters of the project of upgrading the AVT-2 unit for viscosity breaking process at Ryazan Oil Refining Company. The project represents an important step towards improved environmental safety of the enterprise’s refining processes.

The unit is to be equipped with an automatic emission control system that will oversight all production modes round the clock and monitor the state of the environment, able to transmit data to relevant departments of the Ryazan Refinery and public institutions supervising the air condition. The new equipment will increase the refining efficiency through automation and reduce the environmental impact due to a range of advanced engineering solutions.

Following the consideration of the key project technical data provided, experts of the Russian Ecological Society assessed Rosneft’s initiatives of production capacity modernisation and industrial environmental safety improvement of the Ryazan Oil Refining Company. At the end of the discussion, Ryazan Oil Refining Company and RES agreed to monitor the implementation of the programme to upgrade the facilities affecting the environment and public health, in particular, the main stages of the upgrading of the new facility--the AVT-2 unit for viscosity breaking process.

The Company is implementing the largest-scale programme of refinery capacity modernisation in Russia with the investments of 1.4 trillion roubles. The programme includes over 50 projects of construction and upgrading of the main processing units. The Rosneft’s refinery modernisation programme is designed to increase the conversion rate, light petroleum products’ yield, and production volume of high-quality green motor fuels significantly.
