The super final of the Rosneft classes program for gifted students has started at the Sirius educational centre.

The super final of the Educational program for gifted children studying at Rosneft classes has started at the Sirius Lyceum.

108 schoolchildren - winners of the 2020 partnership program organized by Rosneft together with the Sirius Lyceum - started their studies. The program is being implemented within the Cooperation Agreement between the Company and the Educational Foundation “Talent and Success”.

In December 2020, 986 Rosneft classes students from 26 regions of the country applied for participation in the program. The distance program consisted of training modules specially developed for Rosneft classes by experts from the Sirius Lyceum and the Rosneft Corporate Research and Design Complex.

Based on the results of several stages, 108 winners were selected.

In 2005 the Company created a corporate system of continuing education “School - University - Enterprise” to form an external talent pool and a constant influx of highly educated young specialists to Rosneft.

Currently, with the support of Rosneft, in 57 cities and towns of the country (27 constituent entities of the Russian Federation), 122 Rosneft classes have been opened and are successfully operating in 64 schools, with 2,776 schoolchildren studying in them.

The Super final of the Educational Program at Sirius will be held online.

Finalists will go through 2 stages:

First, a scientific and technical educational quest will be organized online (lasting 2 academic hours) on the virtual laboratory website. Participants will get acquainted with the concept of creating a virtual space and virtual exhibits.

The quest will include a block of interactive tests and tasks on the basics of the oil and gas business, as well as in the field of ecology, biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics. The finalists will complete tasks in the field of IT.

Then, there will be formed 18 teams of 6 people. Teams are formed by territory (considering time zones), by interests (based on motivation essays written by the participants) and taking into account the workload of students. Under the guidance of Sirius teachers, the teams will prepare ideas for creating a virtual museum dedicated to the history of the oil and gas industry.

Each team will develop a project of exhibits and will show it at the final presentation.

At the end of the Super final, the best works will be determined. Schoolchildren will present their engineering projects in priority areas of Rosneft’s activities.
