Slavneft-YANOS will increase the conversion rate to almost 100%

The Slavneft-YANOS refinery begins construction of a delayed coking complex. The project received a positive opinion from the Glavgosexpertiza of Russia. Thanks to the future complex, the enterprise will completely stop producing fuel oil. Indicators of oil conversion rate and light oil product yield will exceed 99% and 70%, respectively. Construction work is scheduled to be completed in 2024.

The project will be implemented in two stages. At the first, a delayed coking unit will be built, which will process more than 3.4 million tons of petroleum tailings per year. At the second stage, the sections for naphtha hydrotreatment and light CGO will be put into operation. They will ensure the production of raw materials for gasoline and diesel.

The project received support from the Government of the Yaroslavl Region, an agreement on the project implementation was signed during the XXIII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Along with the increase in fuel efficiency indicators, the project will further reduce the production environmental impact and create new jobs.

Rosneft is implementing an unrivalled modernisation programme for its refineries amounting to 1.5 trillion roubles. Since the beginning of the program implementation, 23 main units and oil refining complexes have already been built and reconstructed, which allowed the Company to significantly increase the production of grade 5 gasoline and meet the needs of the domestic market.
