On International Children's Day, Rosneft sums up the results of its activities related to supporting children's social projects. At the end of 2020, the Company allocated more than 900 million rubles to construct and reconstruct sports, medical, educational, musical, and artistic institutions, to develop children's and youth sports, to support large families, orphanages, and social rehabilitation centres.

Part of the Rosneft-2022 Strategy is the commitment to the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. One of the significant educational projects of the Company in 2020 was the opening of a new, modern school in Tulun, Irkutsk Region, which received the symbolic name “New Era”. Funds for the school construction were allocated in 2019 on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin as part of separate funding. Rosneft built and fully equipped the new school in record time – in just 300 days. To fulfil the presidential instructions, more than a thousand builders worked daily at the construction site in difficult climatic conditions at low temperatures. Today it is not just an educational institution, but a unique multifunctional complex. The school has room for 1,275 pupils. The school covering the area of almost 23,000 square metres consists of five buildings. There are 67 classrooms.

A modern school was also opened in Nizhnevartovsk with the support of Rosneft. The educational institution for 1725 students was built within the national project «Education».
