RN-Uvatneftegaz Plants Over 1.8 Million Pines in Tyumen Region
RN-Uvatneftegaz, an oil producing enterprise of Rosneft Oil Company, has planted over 1.2 million pine seedlings. This is the enterprise’s second large-scale action this year; in the spring, oilmen planted over 600,000 young trees in the forests of Tyumen Region. Overall, RN-Uvatneftegaz has planted 1.8 million trees over a total area exceeding 460 hectares during this year’s growing season.
Environment protection is an integral part of Rosneft Oil Company’s corporate culture and social policy. The Company is implementing a number of comprehensive programmes for the preservation and restoration of natural resources. The Company is committed to the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, including the Life On Land.
RN-Uvatneftegaz does more than just landscaping and planting trees in the region. Volunteer employees take an active part in environmental activities and education.
For instance, a walking route was opened in September at the Gagarin Forest Park, a natural monument of regional importance in Tyumen, with the support of RN-Uvatneftegaz. The environmental trail brought together locations of rare plants and birds and the park’s unique landscapes. Furthermore, the tour provides a comprehensive overview of the features of the nature monument and its flora and fauna.
