Rosneft Enterprises Send over 200 Tonnes of Paper for Recycling in 9 Months of 2021
Rosneft Oil Company’s enterprises have collected and sent more than 200 tonnes of paper and cardboard for recycling in 9 months of 2021. This amount of waste paper can be used to make more than 5 million school notebooks. Each tonne helps save around 1,000 KW of electricity and 200 m3 of water.
Preservation of the environment for future generations is an integral part of the corporate culture of Rosneft. The Company implements ideas that help it transition to circular economy in its operations.
Recyclables at Rosneft’s enterprises are collected in special containers that are installed in all administrative buildings. Following that, the paper is shredded and sent to plants for recycling. Once processed, the material is used to make new products.
The Company’s enterprises have been transitioning to electronic document management, reducing paper consumption and increasing carbon neutrality, since 2020.
*The circular economy aims to maintain the value of products, materials, and resources for as long as possible by returning them back to the production cycle at the end of their use while minimising waste generation.
