Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha Supports Reconstruction of Byas-Kyuyol Settlement in Yakutia Suffered from Wildfire

Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha, an enterprise of Rosneft Oil Company, provided financial assistance for the reconstruction of the Byas-Kyuyol settlement in the Gorny ulus of Yakutia. The settlement was severely hit by wildfires in August, leaving 30 families homeless. In October, they are holding a housewarming party in the settlement as families have been given the keys to their new homes.

In the near future, a new neighbourhood with renewed infrastructure, street lighting and a repaired street and road network will be fully operational in Byas-Kyuyol. The buildings and infrastructure were built with new construction technologies.

The houses are designed to withstand harsh climatic conditions; they are highly energy-efficient and ensure heat conservation. All houses are well equipped, have gas, autonomous water supply and sewerage.

The Ministry of Industry and Geology of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) expressed gratitude to Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha for its assistance in the reconstruction of the Byas-Kyuyol settlement, which suffered from wildfires. The ministry has a strong partnership with the enterprise. Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha makes a significant contribution to the social and economic development of the region.

The enterprise participates in solving urgent social problems in the Republic and provides assistance to medical and educational institutions in the region. Oil workers financed the purchase of three stationary oxygen concentrators for hospitals in Yakutia last year.

As part of an agreement between Rosneft and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the construction of the largest social facility, a new 150-seat training and laboratory building of the Junior Academy of Sciences in Khangalassky ulus, is nearly completed. The Junior Academy of Sciences will train highly qualified personnel in the Republic for various economic sectors and for strengthening scientific potential.

Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha LLC develops 11 licence blocks located in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia). The enterprise is developing the Central block and Kurunga license block of the Srednebotuobinskoye oil and gas condensate field, one of the largest Rosneft’s assets in East Siberia.

In 2016, Rosneft finished the establishment of an international cluster on the basis of Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha where the Company holds 50.1% of shares while the consortium of Indian companies, including Oil India Limited, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, and Bharat PetroResources Limited, holds 29.9% and multinational corporation BP holds 20%.
