Zvezda Shipyard Delivers New Residential Building in Bolshoy Kamen

Another residential building was commissioned in the Fifth Residential Area of Bolshoi Kamen as part of the housing programme of Zvezda Shipyard Complex to accommodate its employees. The flats have interior design, sanitary installations and kitchens with electric cookers. There are sports and children’s playgrounds in the neighbourhood and a children’s clinic and school nearby. Three five-storey buildings with 204 flats have already been completed in the Fifth Residential Area.

The Zvezda shipyard already employs over 4,600 people, and by the time all the facilities of the shipbuilding complex are commissioned, the number of employees will exceed 7,500. Including their family members, the population of Bolshoi Kamen will increase by almost a third, so providing the shipbuilders with accommodation and infrastructure is one of the priority tasks.

The housing programme for Zvezda employees has been in place since 2016. During this time, the shipyard has already commissioned and occupied 16 buildings with a total of 776 flats. The residential areas are 1.5-2 km away from the shipyard, and it takes about 20 minutes for employees to reach their workplace.

According to the project concept, the contractors of Zvezda will build more than 5,000 flats in six neighbourhoods in the Bolshoi Kamen Advanced Socio-Economic Development Area. The construction of a further 750 flats in the Solnechny neighbourhood is the responsibility of the Government of Primorsky Territory. The total area of the new buildings will be about 300,000 square metres of housing.

Note for Editors:
