RN-Uvatneftegaz Supports Creating Robotics Class at School in Tyumen Region

RN-Uvatneftegas (an enterprise of Rosneft Oil Company's production complex) has supported the creation of a robotics class at Demianskaya secondary school in the Tyumen region. The school has more than 260 pupils, including the children of the Khanty and Mansi indigenous peoples who live at the boarding school during the academic year.

Rosneft takes a comprehensive approach to improving the social well-being of indigenous minorities in the regions of its operating activities. The Company is interested in attracting local specialists to its ranks.

The classroom is equipped with educational robotics kits, construction kits and kits for learning the basics of algorithms and programming, due to the support of RN-Uvatneftegaz. Moreover, modern student furniture has been purchased. The use of the kits in the learning process can develop children's interest in research and design and improve the quality of learning.

The class was created as part of the Modern School federal project, in support of the state education policy and the development of the country's human resources potential. The new classroom in Demianskaya school was the fifth robotics class created with the support of RN-Uvatneftegaz in educational institutions in the Tyumen region.

The enterprise actively supports the education system in the region. As part of Rosneft's corporate 'School - University - Enterprise' programme, four Rosneft Classes are operating in the Uvat district to train future qualified personnel for the oil production industry. A total of 149 students have already successfully completed their studies. Graduates from special classes go on to higher education in professions that are in demand in the oil and gas industry.

RN-Uvatneftegaz, a Rosneft subsidiary, is engaged in the exploration and development of the Uvat group of fields located in Tyumen Region. The Uvat project includes 19 license blocks with a total area of more than 25,000 square kilometres.

RN-Uvatneftegaz is one of the largest taxpayers in the Tyumen region. Under the existing agreement between Rosneft and the region, the enterprise actively supports regional social programmes and promotes the development of Uvat District.

A boarding school has been set up at Demianskaya Secondary School to ensure that general education is available to Khanty and Mansi children. The school implements the Gifted Children programme, Improving the Quality of Education programme, the Health School programme and others.
