Bashneft volunteers run eco-campaigns in Bashkiria

Employees of Bashneft's (a part of Rosneft Oil Company) subsidiaries organised a number of eco-campaigns in Bashkiria.

Preservation of the environment for future generations is an integral part of the corporate culture of Rosneft. The Company aims to retain leadership positions in minimising the environmental impact and ensuring the eco-friendliness of its production and implements several comprehensive programmes for preservation and restoration of natural resources.

Volunteers of the Ufaorgsintez petrochemical enterprise conducted outdoor cleaning in Buzha-Tau and Muksim mountainous areas of the Ishimbaysky District of the Republic. The employees cleaned up the coastline of the Zigan mountain river in Gumerovskoye Ravine, where they collected and removed dozens of garbage bags, each one containing 60 litres of refuse. By the way, it is in this area where one may encounter such plants as, for example, Ural flax, European feather grass and shivekeria, all of which are included in the Red Book.

Environmental activists of Tuymazinsky GPE, another Bashneft subsidiary, took up the issue of battery utilisation. During one month of the campaign the employees of the enterprise gathered 30 kilograms of used batteries. Such a number of batteries can poison more than 23 square kilometres of land or 460 thousand litres of water in case of incorrect disposal. In this way the volunteers of the enterprise have once again brought attention to the issue of responsible collection and utilisation of household garbage.

The employees of Bashneft's oil refining complex in Ufa conducted cleaning in the city's wooded area. More than 50 employees and members of their families collected more than 16 cubic metres of waste, equivalent to almost three dumping trucks.
