Ufaorgsintez Completely Updates Water and Wastewater Systems

Ufaorgsintez, an enterprise of Rosneft Oil Company’s oil refining and petrochemical complex, has carried out a technical upgrade of its water and wastewater systems. The modernisation has resulted in energy savings of up to 330,000 kWh per year and has significantly optimised pipeline maintenance.

One of the key priorities of the Rosneft-2030 Strategy is developing technological capacity and ensuring accident-free operation of industrial facilities. As one of the leaders in global energy, the Company is introducing technologies that minimise its environmental impact.

As part of the modernisation of the plant, the water cooler was retrofitted, reducing electricity consumption by a third.

The pipeline for one of the water blocks was also completely removed from the ground, which significantly reduced maintenance costs and increased the reliability of the industrial water supply for the plant’s production facilities. In addition, 80% of the industrial water supply and return pipelines have been replaced, significantly reducing the cost of technical water to feed the water block.

Note for Editors:

Ufaorgsintez is one of Russia’s largest enterprises specialising in the large-scale production of high-quality organic synthesis products and polymeric materials - phenol, acetone, polyethylene and polypropylene. The enterprise is the only producer of SKEPT rubber. In 2018, Ufaorgsintez completed upgrading its cumene (isopropylbenzene) production unit with a capacity of 170,000 tonnes per year.

Ufaorgsintez’s achievements in the production of high-quality products have been repeatedly recognised at the Russian national competition «100 Best Goods of Russia» and the republican competition «Best Goods of Bashkortostan», as well as with quality and import substitution awards and accolades.
