RN-Yuganskneftegaz’s Associated Petroleum Gas Utilisation Exceeds 90 Billion m3
RN-Yuganskneftegaz, Rosneft’s largest oil-producing enterprise, has put 90 billion cubic metres of associated petroleum gas to utilisation. There is a well-developed infrastructure for its collection, preparation and transport, including some 30 major facilities.
The infrastructure created as part of the gas programme enabled RN-Yuganskneftegaz to put more than 4.9 billion m3 of APG to utilisation in 2021, an increase of 100 million m3 over the previous year.
The medium-term plans include a further increase in APG utilisation by completing the installation and reconstruction of some 20 gas infrastructure facilities.
The APG is supplied to three gas processing plants, where it is extracted as a broad fraction of light hydrocarbons, a valuable feedstock for petrochemicals. The gas is also sent to regional consumers and used to generate heat for oil production. In addition, the APG produced is used as fuel for power plants, one of which, Priobskaya GTPP, is the largest in Russia operating on associated petroleum gas. It provides energy to the production facilities of the Priobskoye field. Priobskaya GTPP has generated 30 billion kWh of electricity over 12 years of operation.
