RN-Vankor Purchases Unique Medical Equipment for Krasnoyarsk Hospital

RN-Vankor, an enterprise of Rosneft Oil Company’s oil and gas production complex, has provided the Krasnoyarsk Interdistrict Clinical Emergency Hospital with unique equipment vital for patients suffering from the severe course of COVID-19. The extracorporeal membrane oxygenation machine is the first in the Karpovich Krasnoyarsk hospital and the second in Krasnoyarsk Territory.

It is called an “artificial lung” and is used in cases of serious respiratory damage. It has already come into use to treat patients with severe respiratory failure when a ventilator is no longer able to provide sufficient oxygenation. The hospital’s medical staff note that the new equipment has greatly increased their ability to save the lives of such patients.

As part of Rosneft’s social responsibility policy, RN-Vankor has been consistently strengthening the material and technical base of medical institutions in Krasnoyarsk Territory for a number of years. The oil workers acquire advanced equipment and ambulances.

Last year, the Company financed the purchase of three CT scanners for hospitals in Krasnoyarsk and the Taimyr Interdistrict Hospital in Dudinka. Amid the pandemic, new equipment has increased the capacity of the regional health system.

In the north of Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Company has established a unique integrated emergency response system to provide emergency medical care in the Far North. It includes medical facilities in the fields of the Vankor cluster, the Igarka airport medical station, the Igarsk city hospital and the Krasnoyarsk territorial clinical hospital.
