RN-Uvatneftegaz Conducts Extensive Environmental Activities in the Region

RN-Uvatneftegaz, part of the Rosneft oil production unit, continued to implement a set of environmental protection measures in 2022.

The enterprise pays special attention to reforestation projects. In 2022, RN-Uvatneftegaz employees planted over 500,000 pine seedlings in the Tyumen Region and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra. The total area of forest plantations exceeded 210 hectares.

Preservation of the environment is an integral part of the corporate culture of Rosneft. The Company aims to achieve leadership positions in minimising the environmental impact and ensuring the eco-friendliness of its production.

The enterprise is also continuously implementing green projects to conserve and restore water resources. This year, RN-Uvatneftegaz specialists released more than 5 million fry of valuable fish species – nelma, muksun and peled – into the rivers of the Ob-Irtysh basin.

As part of the RN-Uvatneftegaz grant programme, scientists from the region carried out field work to assess the state of the red-listed bird populations. They have been launched programme to study and protect the forest reindeer population in the Uvat district of the Tyumen region.

RN-Uvatneftegaz volunteers, together with employees of other Rosneft enterprises in Tyumen, take part in actions to clean and improve the shores of water bodies, such as Solyonoye and Pesyanoye lakes. RN-Uvatneftegaz is collecting paper and batteries for further recycling.

Uvat oil workers organised environmental education activities for young people. This year, the book on specially protected natural areas in the Tyumen region, which includes scientific data on federal and regional nature sanctuaries and monuments, was published for the first time supported by RN-Uvatneftegaz.
