Rosneft Opens Research and Educational Centre in Ufa
Rosneft has opened a research and educational centre at the Faculty of Mining and Petroleum of Ufa State Petroleum Technological University. The Rosneft-USPTU Centre is fitted with the latest equipment, some of which have no analogues. More than 800 students and postgraduates will be educated here annually.
A major educational project is implemented with the participation of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia - the founder of USPTU.
The five-storey, 6,000 m2 mining and petroleum faculty building underwent comprehensive modernisation with the Company’s support. The building is fitted with advanced scientific and training equipment, including for core research and the study of hard-to-recover hydrocarbon reserves.
The research and educational centre has 15 educational clusters, consisting of 26 specialised laboratories (exploration and drilling; field development and production), eight digital modelling classrooms and two technosphere safety laboratories.
Students will be able to use a modern drilling simulator in the educational centre to perform, among other things, well workover in virtual reality.
Rosneft-USPTU offers ample opportunities for master’s and postgraduate students to perform scientific research in highly important sectors for the Company, including hard-to-recover hydrocarbon reserves and new materials used in drilling to improve well construction efficiency.
The faculty’s scientific and educational resources allow students to master modern technology, laboratory equipment and software to develop competencies relevant to the Company.
USPTU is a “talent factory” for our country’s oil and gas industry and one of the main suppliers of highly qualified specialists for Rosneft’s enterprises operating in various regions of Russia.
