Orenburgneft Achieves Economic Effect of over 500 Million Roubles from Energy Saving Programme Over Three Years
Orenburgneft (an enterprise of Rosneft Oil Company’s production complex) has saved more than 187 million kWh of electricity in three years. The effect exceeded 500 million roubles. This includes savings of more than 147 million roubles in 2022.
Improvement of production asset efficiency is one of the key components of the Rosneft-2030 Strategy. The Company works systematically to rationalise the use of energy resources and reduce energy consumption, optimising electrical loads and thermal processes.
Orenburgneft implemented 944 measures as part of its energy saving programme in 2022. Modernisation of downhole submersible equipment in oil production has reduced energy consumption and increased the time between repairs of pumps. Oil treatment and transportation facilities have been optimised, and pumping equipment in the reservoir pressure maintenance system has been upgraded and surface infrastructure has been reengineered.
Another significant project was the optimisation of the Kodyakovskaya, Olkhovskaya and Malakhovskaya field groups’ production transport, which saved about 1.3 million kWh of electricity. Replacing the high-pressure pumps in the reservoir pressure maintenance system with more energy-efficient pumps resulted in savings of more than 1.1 million kWh.
