Rosneft Employees Celebrate World Health Day
7 April is World Health Day. On this day in 1948, the Constitution of the World Health Organisation came into effect.
The lives and health of employees are Rosneft's priority. The Company promotes a culture of healthy lifestyle and is a strong supporter of sport.
Rosneft employees are regular participants and winners in sports competitions. Among the biggest recent victories is the 1st team place in the Russian Corporate Chess Championship. The Ufaorgsintez team won the Ufa Basketball Championship, and the RN-BashNIPIneft team won gold in the Ufa Basketball League. The team of the Angarsk Petrochemical Company and the Angarsk Polymer Plant won the relay race dedicated to the birthday of Angarsk.
In many regions, Rosneft's enterprises organise sporting events to commemorate important dates and events. For example, every year on the eve of 9 May, the employees of the Saratov oil refinery hold the «Victory Marathon» athletics race.
An online health marathon is particularly popular at Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha. Employees choose their own time and type of competition, such as running, walking, skiing or cycling. Participants send their results to the moderator, and at the end of each season, the most active participants receive incentive prizes. There are both individual and team championships. Up to 300 participants take part in the campaign each year.
The amateur running club is the calling card of the Novokuibyshevsk Refinery. Last year, around 200 employees and their family members took part in regular running training sessions organised with the enterprise's support, as well as 12 amateur races in the Samara region, Moscow and Bashkortostan.
Athletes from Orenburgneft have organised mass races in the city's recreation park. Residents of the Orenburg Region, employees and veterans of the Company's enterprises and contracted service companies take part in the races.
More and more employees at the Kuibyshev refinery are taking up Nordic walking and competing in this unusual sport. There are also workshops where anyone can learn the technique of Nordic Walking. They take part in city, provincial and national competitions. The number of employees who take part in the technically demanding sport of triathlon is also growing.
Environmental races, which combine sporting events with waste collection, are becoming increasingly popular among the Company's employees. In 2022, employees at the Saratov refinery organised rafting trips on the Volga and Medveditsa rivers to clean the banks.
Employees of the Saratov Refinery organise chess and draughts tournaments for people with disabilities and master classes in volleyball, football, tug-of-war and other sports for schoolchildren.
Family members of employees are actively involved in sporting activities. For them there are Energy of Life, Health Days competitions, mass sports events, summer sports games and family sports festivals «Mum, Dad, Me – a sporty family».
Every year, Rosneft employees take the All-Russian Fitness and Health Complex «Ready for Labor and Defense» (GTO) test and, depending on their results, are awarded gold, silver or bronze GTO badges.
