Rosneft Supports Opening of Modern Sports Facilities
On April 6, the world celebrates Sports Day, which was established by the UN General Assembly in 2013 to demonstrate the importance of sport and physical activity in people’s lives.
Promotion of mass sports is one of the key areas of social commitment of Rosneft and its subsidiaries. Dozens of modern large sports facilities were opened in Russia in 2018-2022 with the support of Rosneft.
In Samara, a modern ice palace appeared with the support of Samaraneftegaz. Today it is the largest sports facility of the regional capital. The facility, which includes an arena with grandstands for 5,000 spectators and a specialized four-track curling center, has become a center of attraction for athletes of all ages and professional competences.
Construction of the sports complex with an indoor ice arena «Rosneft Arena» with stands for 1 thousand people was financed by Novokuibyshevsk Oil Refinery. The ice palace facilitates training and large-scale sporting events all year round. More than 500 children and adults participate in figure skating and ice hockey activities every day.
Another modern ice palace was funded by Bashneft in the city of Kumertau in the Republic of Bashkortostan. Its technical equipment allows to host sports competitions and mass events of national and interregional levels.
The largest sports facility in the west of Bashkiria – the Spartak stadium in the town of Tuimazy – was completely reconstructed with the support of Bashneft. The complex built according to Olympic standards accommodates 3,000 spectators, the soccer field with artificial turf corresponds to the standards of the Russian championships. There are modern sites for futsal, Olympic running track with a safe rubberized surface.
Also, a world-class skate park appeared in Dyurtyuli with the help of Bashkir oil workers. It regularly hosts competitions in various extreme disciplines and performances of professional riders from different regions of Russia and neighboring countries.
With the support of Bashneft, the modern sports and recreation center Zhemchuzhina was built in the village of Bulgakovo in the Ufa district of the Republic of Bashkortostan. There is a universal indoor playground for summer sports, and an equipped gym. It is the only sports complex of its kind in the village inhabited by more than 6,000 people.
A multifunctional open-air stadium with equipped playgrounds for futsal, volleyball, basketball, handball and a training complex was built on the territory of the oil college in Neftekamsk. The Ufa Sokol sports center in the Blagoveshchensky district of Bashkortostan has opened six modern outdoor multi-purpose training grounds with the help of Bashneft. They have become a development of the sports complex, which was previously built with the support of Bashneft. More than 3,000 children practice 62 kinds of sports at the Ufa Sokol.
Another modern skate park in the regional center of Uvat in the Tyumen region was funded by RN-Uvatneftegaz. Athletes of different levels can hone their riding skills and tricks here.
Achinsk Oil Refinery has built an open area for training and passing the TRP standards in the city of Achinsk, Krasnoyarsk Territory. The Neftyanik stadium was also reconstructed, the futsal field, volleyball and basketball courts, running tracks and other sectors for athletics were equipped in accordance with the latest standards.
RN-Yuganskneftegaz financed the construction of a ski center of the Olympic reserve school in the Mezhdurechensk village of the Kondinsky District of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District – Yugra. It is equipped with everything necessary for high-quality training and holding various levels of competitions. In Nefteyugansk, the Neftyanik stadium was opened after a major renovation, and now it meets the latest quality standards for this type of facility. There are also sports and recreation centres in Seliyarovo, Ugut, Singapai, Sytomino and Nefteyugansk, where you can practice summer games, athletics and weightlifting. In 2021, the Dolphin Aquatic Centre, the city’s largest swimming pool with a gymnasium, was renovated.
With the support of Samotlorneftegaz, a modern 10-metre high rope park was opened in Nizhnevartovsk, and a sports complex with futsal, volleyball and basketball courts and a modern gym was opened in Khanty-Mansiysk.
In Syzran, multi-purpose playgrounds for team games and GTO tests were built on the grounds of Schools 3 and 21 with funding from the Syzran Refinery. Sports facilities with rope ladders, ropes, climbing wall, rings, wall bars, maze, handrail, planks, crossbars and outdoor fitness equipment. There is a special area for long jumps.
In Turukhansk settlement and Igarka town in Krasnoyarsk Territory, two children’s and youth sports schools and a skiing track have been given a new lease of life with financial support from RN-Vankor.
Saratov Refinery provided for the reconstruction of a children’s tuberculosis sanatorium in Saratov, including the overhaul of the halls of the medical and fitness complex. The sanatorium can treat 100 children at a time.
