RN-Nyaganneftegaz Commissions First Mobile Power Substation

RN-Nyaganneftegaz (part of Rosneft’s oil production complex) has commissioned the first mobile substation at the Em-Yogovskoye field. The capacity of the substation is 6.3 MVA, voltage – 35/6 kV.

Systematic work to improve the operating efficiency at facilities is one of the key elements of the Rosneft Strategy. The Company has worked systematically to reduce operating and capital costs by introducing advanced technological solutions.

The substation consists of two prefabricated modules that are placed on mobile platforms. Installation is completed in the shortest possible time – 10 days – and requires minimal construction work. The substation can be repeatedly moved from one site to another. A high degree of automation ensures unattended operation of the equipment.

RN-Nyaganneftegaz expects significant economic benefits from the use of the substation in the development of new remote sites. Quick connection to a central power supply eliminates the need for costly diesel generation and reduces the carbon footprint of oil production by eliminating exhaust emissions from diesel units.

The mobile substation increases the operational flexibility to supply power to new field sites depending on the power requirements of the oil production facilities.

Note for Editors:

RN-Nyaganneftegaz, a subsidiary of Rosneft Oil Company, is engaged in commercial production at the Krasnoleninsk arch at three licence areas located in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District – Yugra.
