Rosneft Opens School for Principal Project Engineers
TomskNIPIneft (part of Rosneft’s scientific block) together with its partner university, the National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University, is launching a professional retraining programme, the School for Principal Project Engineers (PPEs). The programme covers the entire life cycle of oil and gas projects and is unique in Russia.
Such training programmes for industry professionals are currently highly specialised, whereas in practice, managers tasked with developing and expanding areas need expertise in economics, business communications, engineering and modelling, surveying and other related fields. Previously, these skills had to be learned additionally in several different courses.
The modular approach of the new programme will allow each topic to be explored in detail and in depth. The main educational blocks include: conceptual design and overview of best practices, principles and methods of project management, specifics of design and survey work, pipeline construction, capital and power facilities, safety systems, field automation, etc. The course concludes with a diploma project. Those who successfully complete the programme will be awarded a diploma.
