Rosneft Conducts Thousand Children’s Activities in Three Years

On the International Children’s Day, Rosneft sums up the results of its activities related to supporting and developing children’s social projects. Over the past three years, the Company’s enterprises have organised more than a thousand activities for children. The Company allocated significant funds to construct and reconstruct sports, medical, educational, musical and artistic institutions, to develop children’s and youth sports, to support large families, orphanages and social rehabilitation centers.

Under the cooperation agreements with various regions of the Russian Federation, the Company implements projects for the social infrastructure development aimed at creating a friendly environment for ensuring a full life, health protection, education and upbringing of children.

Employees of Rosneft’s enterprises take an active part in various charitable campaigns, both nationwide and regional, targeting children, such as the New Year’s Tree of Wishes, Help to Go to School, Caps of Kindness, Christmas Tree, Spring Week of Kindness, Giving Warmth to Children, First-Grader’s Backpack, Getting Ready for School, No Child Is a Stranger, Father Christmas to Every Home, Gift for School, Father Christmas’s Gift. 

In 2022, more than 15,000 Company volunteers actively participated in national and regional charity events to help orphans, the disabled and families in need.

RN-Vankor supports adaptive sports activities for children with disabilities every year. With the help of oil workers, the Yenisei Ice children’s sledge hockey tournament is held in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, and the national charity project Ski Dreams, which uses skiing to rehabilitate and socialise disabled children, is successfully implemented. Around 3,000 training sessions have been provided for children diagnosed with cerebral palsy as part of this unique project.

Krasnoyarsk’s educational institutions also receive ongoing support from RN-Vankor. Over several years, the enterprise has supported the renovation of schools in Igarka and Turukhansk, the Igarka Children’s and Youth Sports School, and the construction of sports and playgrounds in villages, schools and kindergartens in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. To celebrate Children’s Day, RN-Vankor organised interactive playgrounds and sports competitions for children in Krasnoyarsk.

At the expense of the Achinsk Oil Refinery, the only modern surdology room in Achinsk was set up at the boarding school No. 3 for diagnostic, corrective and developmental work with children with hearing and speech disorders. In the regional rehabilitation centre for children and teenagers with disabilities, there is a unique space for the social rehabilitation of children with disabilities.

The Achinsk Oil Refinery funded the purchase of medical equipment for the inpatient department of the Krasnoyarsk Regional Centre for Maternity and Child Protection and the renovation of the surgical wards.

With the support of the refinery, playgrounds in the city’s kindergartens have been improved and areas for sports activities organised. The building of Lyceum No. 1 has been renovated and the «Read! Do! Dream!» complex was created, where students can engage in academic disciplines, engineering, project work and creativity. Do! Bashneft has financed the construction and reconstruction of more than 10 large social institutions for children in the Republic of Bashkortostan. New buildings and grounds of the Ufa Falcon sports centre for training young athletes have been built in the Republic’s Blagoveshchensky district. The sports centre welcomes around 3,000 children each season. They take part in 62 different sports.

A polylingual boarding school for 300 children was opened in Neftekamsk. The building has been restored and equipped with all the modern conveniences. An educational facility of 2,300 m2 is a base platform for linguistic education in Neftekamsk with more than 130,000 citizens and dozens of other settlements of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

Bashneft also contributed to the construction of a sports stadium at the Neftekamsk Oil College, where more than 2,500 people study. The stadium is equipped with outdoor multipurpose courts for football, volleyball and basketball.

A neurostudio for children was opened in Ufa at the Lyubimy Malysh (Beloved Kid) Habilitation Center, also financed by the company. The renovated medical facility serves more than 50 young patients daily. The Habilitation Centre and Neurostudio, unique medical facilities, play an important role in working with children with special needs.

A new 800 m2 cultural centre has also been built in the village of Karayar, Karaidel district, which is used by more than 1,500 local people. A drama, singing and dance group is based at the cultural centre.

Over the past three years, with the support of RN-Uvatneftegaz, three sports facilities have been opened in the Tyumen Region – a skateboard park, outdoor fitness equipment and jungle gyms, as well as five computer and robotics classes in general education schools. Uvatneftegaz has been cooperating with the Tyumen branch of the Russian Children’s Fund for many years. The Uvatneftegaz charity program finances various federal and regional organisations, such as the Bank for the Orphans Needs, Help for Children with Disabilities and Hurry to Do Good.

Another important initiative of RN-Uvatneftegaz is the Key to Life social partnership project. The project provides targeted assistance to seriously ill children whose parents cannot afford to pay for expensive treatment, rehabilitation and medication. The enterprise also helps children receive unique high-tech surgeries at leading Russian medical centres.

Samaraneftegaz has implemented more than 40 socially significant projects in the region. Among the largest is the construction of a new building and extensive renovation of a children’s art school in the town of Otradny, which has 150 students. The enterprise provided financial support for the construction of the Petushok kindergarten for 170 children in the village of Surgut. It has become the most modern pre-school in the Sergievsky district. In addition, the Kolos children’s sanatorium in the village of Kinel-Cherkassy was refurbished and the Ostrov kindergarten health camp in the town of Otradny was supported. In the children’s institution, the buildings and canteen facades were completely renovated, and multimedia equipment was purchased. Over 500 children spend their holidays at the renovated camp each year.

RN-Yuganskneftegaz has implemented a number of projects over three years to support general education, pre-school and leisure facilities. Thanks to employees support, kindergartens, sports and recreation facilities, children’s playgrounds, creative workshops and conference halls have been built or renovated in a number of towns and communities.

A new kindergarten has been built in the village of Singapai, Nefteyugansk District, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District – Yugra. The funds for the construction of the facility were provided by RN-Yuganskneftegaz under the cooperation agreement between Rosneft Oil Company and the district government. The pre-school has a capacity of 120 children. The kindergarten is equipped with multimedia equipment for hearing-impaired children, and conditions have been created for the integration of disabled people with «Accessible Environment» programme.

A new 1,500 m² sports and recreation complex was also opened in the village of Singapai. Thanks to modern technical solutions, such as the transforming grandstand, the multi-purpose sports hall can be used for a variety of sports, such as judo, volleyball, basketball and futsal. The complex fully meets the sporting needs of the village’s 3500 inhabitants.

With the participation of Samotlorneftegaz, Ekokvant, a modern environmental youth club, and InzhenerUm, the first school technopark in Nizhnevartovsk, were opened with themed rooms for children’s extra-curricular education. More than 5,000 children have visited the centres since they opened.

A roller rink has also been opened in the capital of Samotlor for young people to take part in active sports. The facility can accommodate more than 11,000 children per year.

Rosneft is creating and developing a system of pre-university training and career guidance for schoolchildren. Rosneft specialised classes are being created in the regions where the Company operates. In their activities, they take into account the specifics of the development of the territorial economy and the needs of the local labour market. More than 1,100 students graduated from Rosneft classes in 2022.
