Rosneft Supports Mountain Bike Tournament in the Tyumen Region

A mountain bike tournament for young men was held in the Uvat district centre of the Tyumen region, supported by RN-Uvatneftegaz (part of the Rosneft oil production complex). The competition was attended by 60 cyclists from Tyumen, Tobolsk and Uvat districts.

Rosneft promotes a culture of healthy living and fully supports sports. The Company finances the construction of ice arenas sports complexes and multipurpose sports grounds in the regions of operation.

,The A.I. Tikhonov Biathlon Centre will host the competitions on a 1.8 km track with two ski jumps and a height difference of 28 metres. The battle for medals was fought in three age groups – 11-12 year olds, 13-14 year olds and 15-16 year olds. The winners and the laureates in each of the groups were awarded with medals and diplomas, as well as with special prizes. Pavel Kalinin, Master of Sports International Class, was the guest of honour at the tournament.

Thanks to the support of RN-Uvatneftegaz, cycling in the Uvat district has received a new boost. Company funds were used to purchase and equip a mobile technical workshop for the bicycle section in 2022. The young sportsmen of the district also received equipment, supplies and uniforms: 23 new bicycles – road and mountain bikes, components for them, as well as protective helmets and sets of cycling uniforms.
