A new swimming facility was built in Samara with Rosneft's support
A new swimming facility was opened in Samara with the support of Samaraneftegas. The sports facility was built under the Cooperation Agreement signed between Rosneft and the Government of the Samara Region. The swimming facility with the area of about 4.5 thousand m2 will make it possible to hold regional level competitions and will contribute to the development of youth sports. The new sports facility will become a base for the Olympic Reserve School No. 8, where coaching sessions are held in such disciplines as swimming, artistic swimming, diving and adaptive sports.
The swimming pool is 16 by 25 meters and has six swimming lanes. Up to 50 people can train here at a time. In addition, the swimming facility has a gymnasium and gymnastics room, a medical station and a cafeteria.
The swimming pool has a closed-loop water circulation thanks to Russia-made cutting-edge technical equipment. The water undergoes three stages of purification - mechanical, chlorination and ultraviolet.
Not only professionals, but also amateurs from among the residents of the city will be able to practice in the swimming facility. The swimming pool is designed for all population groups, including those with disabilities, as there is a specially equipped entrance to the pool for people with mobility impairments.
Rosneft pays much attention to the support, development and popularization of physical culture and sports. Construction of sports facilities, ice arenas and multi-purpose sports grounds is being actively carried out in the regions where the Company operates. With the Company's support, dozens of state-of-the art large sports facilities have been opened in the region just over the past five years.
Earlier, a modern ice palace was built in Samara with the support of Samaraneftegas, which is currently the largest sports facility in the capital of the region. The facility includes an arena with stands for 5,000 spectators and the only specialized curling center for four lanes in the Volga Federal District. The ice palace has become a training center for athletes of different ages. In addition, the Company funded construction of indoor ice arenas in Syzran, Novokuibyshevsk and Otradnoye cities.
