Ryazan Oil Refining Company Together with Volunteer Organisations Plants Tree Seedlings

Employees of the Ryazan Oil Refining Company (part of the Rosneft refining complex), together with volunteers from the Movement of Firsts, Young Army cadets, school students and community members, planted 135 seedlings of oak, lombardy poplar and large-leaved linden in the most densely populated area of Ryazan.

Environmental protection in the production region is an integral part of Rosneft’s corporate culture. The Company aims to achieve leadership positions in minimizing the environmental impact and ensuring the eco-friendliness of its production.

The trees will not only make the city more beautiful, but also improve its ecological environment. For example, lombardy poplars produce oxygen both during the day and at night since the tree’s photosynthesis occurs for 24 hours a day. The life span of the poplar is about 300 years.

On Skobelev Square in Dashkovo-Pesochnya, the enterprise, together with volunteer youth movements, created the «Alley of Oil Workers» to commemorate the 180th anniversary of the birth of Mikhail Dmitrievich Skobelev, an outstanding Russian commander and military figure. This is the second street in the city, dedicated to workers of Ryazan Oil Refining Company. The first one appeared last year on Sokolovaya Street.

The Ryazan Oil Refining Company implements projects to modernise and reconstruct production facilities, improve the environmental management system and conduct environmental education work with schoolchildren and students. The enterprise’s employees take part in city, regional and federal clean-ups to improve and clean up the city, as well as in landscaping campaigns, and support the Okskiy Biosphere Reserve, which protects rare Red Book species of flora and fauna.

The company organizes excursions and hikes for children, built on a research program to study the aspects of the nature of their native land. This year, as part of the national campaign «Green Spring – 2023», employees of the Ryazan Oil Refining Company planted 200 seedlings of lombardy poplar and broad-leaved linded at three locations in the city.
