RN-Nyaganneftegaz's green investments in 2023 exceeded 585 million rubles

RN-Nyaganneftegaz, an enterprise of Rosneft Oil Company’s oil and gas production complex, invested more than 585 million rubles in environment-oriented and restoration measures over 2023. The funds are earmarked for the gas programme, improving pipeline reliability, land reclamation and increasing the efficiency of industrial waste management.

Preservation of the environment for future generations is an important area of Rosneft's activities. The Company aims to achieve leadership positions in minimizing the environmental impact and ensuring the eco-friendliness of its production.

The enterprise fully utilises its drilling waste with the use of modern technologies that passed state environmental expertise. The resulting secondary products are reused in technological processes. In 2023, RN-Nyaganneftegaz utilized about 13,000 tons of oily waste and more than 35,000 tons of drilling waste.

The enterprise uses modern methods and equipment in the process of land remediation, which help improve the efficiency of work in the natural and climatic conditions of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District - Yugra. Furthermore, the enterprise uses various agrotechnical and phytomelioration techniques in order to reintroduce the flora and fauna of the district.

RN-Nyaganneftegaz pays particular attention to forest conservation and the maintenance of water biodiversity. Within the framework of the reforestation program in 2023, RN-Nyaganneftegaz planted over 720,000 saplings of Siberian and common pine on an area of over 200 hectares.  The enterprise has formed an effective strategy to restore the biodiversity of Siberian water resources. Over 5.5 million fry of valuable fish species were released into the water bodies of the Ob-Irtysh basin last year.
