XII Rosneft Winter Sports Games attracted a record number of participants
XII Rosneft Winter Sports Games, which took place in Krasnoyarsk from February 25 to 29, has ended.
A record number of participants – more than 650 athletes from 39 teams representing subsidiaries and the head office of the Company – competed for victory in the corporate tournament.
Promotion of sports is one of the key priorities of the Company. Rosneft continuously carries out extensive work to develop sports and promote healthy lifestyles in the regions where it operates. The annual Summer and Winter Sports Games are an important part of the Company’s sports-oriented initiatives.
This year, four sports were represented in the winter competitions: the traditional three – ice hockey, skiing and biathlon, as well as a new discipline – curling.
The Angara team, Angarsk Petrochemical Company, won the XII Rosneft Winter Sports Games. It has become a champion 13 times and a winner of the Company's Summer and Winter Games 6 times since 2012. The Bashneft-Dobycha team took silver in the team competition, with bronze going to Ufaorgsintez.
In ice hockey, the first place took the team of Ufaorgsintez, the second Angara, the third Verkhnechonskneftegaz. In the skiing relay, Samaraneftegaz, Angara and Bashneft-Dobycha took the first, second and third places respectively.
Biathlon competition aroused great interest among the audience. This was the second time such a competition was included in the Rosneft Winter Sports Games. The first biathlon games took place in 2023. The Kuibyshev Refinery came first in the biathlon relay race, while the teams of Yuganskneftegaz and RN-Vankor took second and third places respectively.
The XII Winter Sports Games also included a family curling competition, devoted to the Year of the Family in the Russian Federation, with an unofficial motto “My Family Is My Victory”. Curling was included in the program of the Games for the first time and aroused unprecedented enthusiasm among the competitors. Ekaterina Ilyina and Maxim Pichugin from the Saratov Refinery took the first place in curling, Daria and Andrei Kushnarev from Vostsibneftegaz came second, Valentina and Ivan Arshinov from Orenburgneft came third.
The judges also rewarded the participants for their discipline, team spirit and will to win. KC Bashneft was recognized as the most disciplined team, Vostsibneftegaz as the most close-knit, Tyumenneftegaz as the most progressive. Bashneft-Stroy team was recognized as the best debutant. Slavneft-Krasnoyarskneftegaz team received the diploma “For the Will to Win”.
