RN-Vankor achieves economic effect of over 1.3 billion roubles from energy saving program
RN-Vankor (part of Rosneft’s oil and gas production complex) saved more than 1.3 billion roubles or over 593 million kWh as part of its energy saving program. This is equivalent to 22% of the total energy consumption of the Vankor cluster facilities in 2023 and a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of more than 287 thousand tons of CO2 equivalent.
RN-Vankor annually implements innovative solutions to improve the energy efficiency of technological processes at oilfield facilities in the north of Krasnoyarsk Krai.
At the end of last year alone, more than 42 million kWh of electricity was additionally generated through the implementation of 865 energy-saving measures to optimize operating modes, introduce high-efficiency equipment and new technologies at production sites.
A high level of energy efficiency has been achieved in the mechanised oil production wells, which are equipped with high-efficiency pumps. Optimization of the operation mode of electric centrifugal pump units at the Vankor, Suzun, Tagul and Lodochnoye fields resulted in additional savings of 30 million kWh or 140 million roubles.
In addition, the efficiency of the upgraded pumping unit at Vankor’s oil treatment and pumping facilities was significantly improved.
The efficiency of RN-Vankor’s energy management system is confirmed by certification in accordance with the international standard ISO 50001:2018.
Energy efficiency is a key consideration in the design and selection of technical solutions for the new production facilities at the Vostok Oil project in Taymyr.
