Rosneft invests 225 billion roubles in APG utilization projects since 2013

Rosneft's investments in projects for the beneficial use of associated petroleum gas totalled 225 billion roubles from 2013 to 2023.

Responsible attitude towards the environment is an integral part of Rosneft's corporate culture and one of the key principles of its operations. The Company has been a member of the UN Global Compact for more than 10 years and annually confirms its commitment to 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Rosneft implements a range of measures aimed at introducing innovative technologies, improving operational safety, social well-being of the regions and caring for the environment.

The Company launched 12 new facilities, including gas injection, power generation, gas treatment and utilization, and gas transportation infrastructure in 2023 as part of the large-scale Gas Investment Program to improve the rational use of APG. The program is being implemented in all regions of the Company's presence and promotes the widespread introduction of innovative, energy-saving, ‘green’ technologies into production processes.

Rosneft implements infrastructure projects for the beneficial use of APG in a variety of areas: gas supply to the unified gas supply system and gas processing plants; gas reinjection; gas utilization at generation facilities for electricity and heat generation, as well as gas utilization for own process needs during oil and gas treatment.

At a number of the Company's key enterprises, the APG utilization rate is already 99%. The APG utilization rate is currently 99% at Vankor and 99.3% at Purneftegaz due to the creation of extensive modern gas gathering, treatment and transportation systems.

The APG utilization rate at Samotlorneftegaz today reaches almost 98%. These high results were achieved thanks to a well-developed gas infrastructure. The enterprise also implements best practices of monitoring methane emission sources. Samotlorneftegaz was the first to use a range of innovative technologies to detect and locate unorganized sources of methane emissions.
