XIX Rosneft Summer Sports Games have started

The first regional round of the corporate XIX Rosneft Summer Sports Games took place in Ryazan. More than 300 participants from eight teams from Moscow, Bryansk, Udmurtia and Ryazan took part in the sports event.

In total, regional rounds of Rosneft Games will take place in nine cities across the country and in eleven different disciplines.

The development of sports is one of the main aspects of Rosneft's social policy. Rosneft finances the construction of ice rinks, sports centres and multifunctional sport grounds. Rosneft also supports amateur sports and carries out extensive work to promote healthy lifestyles, both among its own employees and the population in the regions of operation. Rosneft's Summer and Winter Sports Games are the most popular events with thousands of oil industry athletes participating.

Over four days in Ryazan, the winners and runners-up were determined in short and long-distance running, kettlebell lifting, shot put, rifle shooting, chess, table tennis and billiards. In addition, based on the results of intense games, the winners in team sports, such as volleyball, basketball and mini-football, were determined. Spectacular tug of war competitions aroused the greatest interest among the fans.

The RN-Moscow team won the bronze medal in the team competition, while the athletes of Ryazan Oil Refining Company, the organizer of the tour, took the second place. The Udmurtneft team took the first place.

The first Rosneft mass sports competitions took place in 2005 and were dedicated to 10th anniversary of the Company. Since then, the competitions have become part of the corporate culture.
