Rosneft's XIII Winter Sports Games Conclude in Krasnoyarsk
The awards ceremony for the winners of Rosneft's XIII Winter Sports Games has taken place following five days of competition in Krasnoyarsk. The company dedicated the competition to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, which the entire country is celebrating this year.
Sports development is one of the key pillars of Rosneft's social policy. The company supports amateur sport and conducts extensive work to promote healthy lifestyles both amongst its employees and the population in its operating regions. Rosneft finances the construction of ice rinks,
sports centres and multi-purpose sporting facilities in its regions of operation.
Throughout the five days of the Winter Games, approximately 650 oil industry athletes from 41 teams representing the company's subsidiary enterprises competed in three of the most popular winter disciplines: ice hockey, cross-country skiing and biathlon. The skiing events featured separate men's and women's distances as well as relay races.
Ufaorgsintez emerged as the overall winner of the XIII Winter Sports Games, with Samaraneftegaz athletes claiming silver and RN-Vankor taking third place.
Ufaorgsintez's ice hockey team proved strongest in the hockey tournament, winning the "Super League" division. Silver went to athletes from RN-Vankor, whilst RN-Purneftegaz took third place. In the Premier League, Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha took first place, with RN-BashNIPIneft athletes claiming silver and Bashneft-Stroy finishing third. SIBINTEK won the First League, with the Ryazan NPK hockey team taking second place and RN-Nyaganneftegaz taking third.
The biathlon competitions traditionally generated heightened spectator interest. Competition in this sport was held for only the third time, having been included in the Winter Games programme only in 2023. The RN-Yuganskneftegaz team won both the men's and women's races, with second and third places going to RN-Uvatneftegaz and Udmurtneft respectively. In the biathlon relay, the RN-Uvatneftegaz and RN-Yuganskneftegaz teams switched positions (claiming first and second place respectively), with bronze going to Vostsibineftegaz.
In cross-country skiing, Samaraneftegaz dominated both individual and relay races. The top three also included Ufaorgsintez and Udmurtneft (individual races), as well as Udmurtneft and RN-Uvatneftegaz (relay).
The judges did not limit themselves to counting the points in the main categories. Teams received recognition for discipline, inventive approach and perseverance. RN-Nyaganneftegaz was named the most disciplined team. Angara (Angarsk Petrochemical Company) was deemed the most cohesive, whilst TomskNIPIneft was recognised as the most progressive. SIBINTEK was acknowledged as the best debutant, and the "Will to Win" diploma was awarded to the RN-Transport team.
All competition participants received awards and commemorative prizes. Multiple-time Russian sambo champion Alexander Matais took part in the awards ceremony.
We congratulate the winners and participants of Rosneft's Winter Games and wish them further achievements and victories!
