Ufa Will Host Some of The Most Exciting Premieres of The Theater Season with Support of Rosneft
Bashneft (a subsidiary of Rosneft) is serving as the general partner of the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theater for the second consecutive year. In 2026, there is a rich programme: popular opera and ballet shows, as well as exciting premieres.
Rosneft actively supports the development of the country’s cultural scene and traditional art forms, which for decades have reflected Russia’s unique identity, the diversity and unity of its peoples, as well as its rich national heritage. With the Company’s support, major projects are being implemented to strengthen spiritual, national, and patriotic values.
As a part of the collaboration, the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theater will host two major premieres during the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia: The Little Humpbacked Horse and La traviata. The theater’s repertoire also includes world classics, such as Swan Lake, La Sylphide, Don Quixotte, as well as Eugene Onegin and The Maid of Orleans. This theatrical season also includes the Bashkir ballet Seven Maidens and the opera Salavat Yulaev, performed in both Bashkir and Russian.
Performances by the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theater have consistently been met with a packed house for 88 years. Throughout its history, the theater’s stage has repeatedly served as a magnet for outstanding talents: soloists from the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theaters, renowned performers, and celebrated artistic ensembles from various countries have all graced its stage.

The Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theater traces its history back to 1938, when it first opened its doors to the public. The year 1953 marked a special chapter in the theater’s history: it was then that Rudolf Nureyev joined the ballet company, beginning his triumphant rise to the status of a legend in the world of ballet.
