Rosneft Provides Support for Construction of Cultural and Educational Centre in One of Yugra’s Oldest Villages

With the support of Samotlorneftegaz, one of Rosneft’s key production enterprise, a multi-purpose cultural and educational centre has been constructed in the village of Laryak, which is one of the oldest villages in Yugra. The project was implemented under a cooperation agreement between Rosneft and the Government of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District — Yugra.

The new centre has become the primary leisure facility for residents of Laryak and the surrounding villages. The two-storey building, with a total floor area of 2,700 square metres, houses three social services facilities: a community centre, a children's art school and a library. The centre's capacity has been designed to accommodate up to 5,000 visitors per week. Its technical capabilities enable it to host high-quality cultural and educational events.

The centre features a large stage equipped with state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems, as well as stage machinery, for hosting events such as celebrations, concerts and festivals. The comfortable auditorium seats 150 people.

Each educational discipline — dance, visual arts, choral singing and instrumental music — has its own specialised classroom. Students of the children's art school repeatedly won awards in creative competitions at both national and international levels. Over half of the village's children attend the art school. Specialist classrooms provide a variety of opportunities to nurture children's creative talents.

The library premises are available for educational events to be held in collaboration with other cultural institutions in the village. The library, which has a collection of over 16,000 books, is visited by every second resident of Laryak.

In the course of constructing the cultural and educational centre, particular attention was paid to creating an accessible, barrier-free environment. The building is equipped with modern lifts for moving between floors.

Rosneft and its subsidiaries actively support initiatives that aim to create favourable living conditions in the regions of operation. The Company pays great attention to cultural and educational initiatives.
