Rosneft signed a Trilateral Partnership Agreement on Cooperation with St. Petersburg Academic University — Nanotechnology Research and Education Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Alferov’s Foundation

Rosneft President, Chairman of the Management Board Igor Sechin, Rector of St. Petersburg Academic University, Vice-president of Russian Academy of Sciences, Noble laureate Zhores Alferov and Executive Director of Foundation for Support of Education and Science (Alferov’s foundation) Evgeniy Mozgovoy have concluded a cooperation agreement. Recognizing the importance of professional education and science in the development of oil and gas industry, and growing demand of fuel and energy complex for the creation and application of high technologies to the industry, Rosneft, St. Petersburg Academic University — Nanotechnology Research and Education Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Foundation for support of education and science (Alferov’s foundation) decided to create a system of partner relations in which each party takes certain responsibilities.

University plans to:

  • take part in pre-university support program carried out by the Company in its presence regions;
  • select students from “Rosneft-classes” to continue their education at “Phycical-Technical High School” lyceum and University’s partner educational establishments for bachelor degree;
  • create Company’s technological educational center (TEC) “Innovative management and high-technology transfer in oil-gas field of Fuel and Energy Complex”;
  • provide employees of Rosneft and its subsidiary and dependent enterprises with additional vocational education based on programs actual for the Company;
  • cooperate with the Company in the realization of its special innovative projects;
  • adapt inventions of TEC “Innovative management and high-technology transfer in oil-gas field of Fuel and Energy Complex” to Company’s production practice;
  • apply the invented technologies, materials and equipment to the Company’s facilities
  • do research and experimental-industrial projects based on the request of Rosneft.

Foundation plans to:

  • hold annual challenges in “Rosneft –classes” to select the most talented students in the fields of math, physics and IT;
  • administrate the Company’s competitions for science researches and works, select the best innovative technologies;
  • support the Company’s conferences, seminars, and other scientific and educational events

Company plans to :

  • provide students, postgraduates and teachers with possibility to undertake internships, pre-degree and work practices in scientific departments of the Company;
  • pay educational fellowships to students of “Phycical-Technical High School” lyceum, who showed the disposition to professional development in innovative management;
  • give corporate grants for students and personal grants for professors and scientists of the University;
  • hire University graduates, who showed high results during the education, according to Company’s demand for personnel;
  • provide assistance to the University aimed at the development of academic and technical complex, scientific research, implementation of new ways of education, interactive and online education technologies;
  • carry out a program for social support and all-round development of students and teaching staff of “Phycical-Technical High School” lyceum.
