Rosneft and Komi Republic signed a Cooperation Agreement

Rosneft Chief executive officer Igor Sechin and Acting Head of the Komi Republic Sergey Gaplikov, have signed a cooperation agreement during the XX St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The document provides for interaction between the Parties in implementing social and economic programs in the Komi Republic as well as creation of economic, legal, and organizational environment for Company's business operations in the region.

Rosneft and the Komi Republic agreed to cooperate in the area of resource base development and rational use of natural resources, environmental protection, stimulation of investment, scientific and technical, and innovative activities, enhancement of social stability in the region.

Apart of that the document aims at developing cooperation between the Parties in the area of energy saving, energy efficiency, and modernization.

Under the Agreement the Company plans to arrange collaboration with Komi's educational establishments and universities to train, retrain, and develop personnel.

Notes for editors:

Rosneft's Subsidiary Severnaya Neft carries out oil and gas production, development and geological studies at license areas in the Komi Republic. Severnaya Neft's strategic objectives are to bring new reserves into development and increase the resource base.
