Rosneft will take part in social projects in Samara region

As part of XXIII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Rosneft and Samara region signed a supplement agreement on cooperation in the social development sphere.

The document was signed by Igor Sechin, Chief Executive Officer of Rosneft Oil Company and Dmitry Azarov, Governor of Samara Region.

The document expands interaction of parties in implementation of significant projects in the Region. Rosneft will provide financial support for construction of the swimming pool in Samara; repair of buildings of schools in Syzran, reconstruction of the Children Arts School in Otradny, reconstruction of kindergarten in Novokuibyshevsk. Additionally the Company will take part in reconstruction of Recreation Park in Otradny which is the primary place of recreation of the residents of the town. The park occupies over 13 ha of land, more than 70,000 residents of town visit its attractions every year.

Funds will be also provided for social and economic development of municipal entities where Company's production subsidiary Samaraneftegaz operates as well as for the construction of transport and pedestrian road in Novokuibyshevsk.

The Cooperation Agreement between Rosneft and the Government of the Samara Region is in place since 2014.

Major subsidiaries of Rosneft forming a closed production chain from oil and gas production to refining and sales operate in Samara Region.

Samaraneftegaz develops oilfields and produces oil and gas in the region. Samara production site includes Kuibyshev refinery, Novokuibyshev refinery and Syzran refinery as well as Novokuibyshev Oil and Lubricants Plant and Novokuibyshev Petrochemical Company. Gas processing plants and distribution chain of Rosneft also operate in the region.

The Company takes an active part in implementation of socially significant projects. In particular, Rosneft participated in construction of ice palaces Rosneft Arena in Syzran and Novokuibyshev which became centers of mass sports recreation and major sports competitions.
