Rosneft and Rostec agreed to cooperate in the use of pilotless aircrafts
During the XXIII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Rosneft and State Corporation Rostec signed an agreement setting out basic principles of cooperation development in the area of airborne laser scanning and pilotless aircrafts.
The agreement provides for a joint project focused on airborne laser scanning at Rosneft facilities and creation of special aircraft systems using air drones to solve the tasks of the Company.
Commenting on the signing of the agreement, Andrey Shishkin, Rosneft Vice President for Energy, Localization and Innovations, noted: “The active introduction of innovative technologies, including the use of air drones in the development of oil and gas infrastructure, allows the Company to cut down costs and shorten the work deadlines. Rosneft strengthens its position as a technology leader introducing the latest technology throughout the production chain.”
"Rostec has been long and successfully introducing drones in various industries: agriculture, forestry, energy engineering, and construction. For example, ZALA AERO GROUP drones inspect more than 5 million km of power supply infrastructure every year, a special product range is used for operations in the polar and Arctic conditions. The unmanned technology offers great opportunities for enterprises in the oil and gas sector, from preliminary monitoring of promising areas to land-surveying for the design purpose. The system can survey more than 21 thousand square km from one launch site. We are confident that our cooperation with Rosneft in this domain will be very productive,” said Alexander Nazarov, Deputy General Director of Rostec.
